I have thought a lot about what my one little word would be for 2011 and I have come up with the word of COMMIT. I have a lot of things that I want to do, see and complete in 2011 and the only way that I will be able to get them all done is to commit to the completion of each of them.
A couple of the things that I want to do in 2011 are as follows:
1. Read through the Bible in one year as challenged by the leadership of my church.
2. Be a active member of Beth Moore's Siesta Scripture Memory team.
3. Complete some form of exercise 4-5 days a week. I was doing really good on this front until my car accident in October which stopped my time in the gym due to a broken left hand. So, I just need to step it back up and start again and it all begins bright and early in the morning here.
4. Learn to cook seafood and shellfish as well as more seasonal vegetables to have a healthier lifestyle.
5. As for the traditional weight loss goal - i want to lose 100 pounds this year. I know that this is a pretty aggressive goal but I feel like it is obtainable when coupled with my exercise and healthy lifestyle plans.
6. Organize all of my photos on my computer and place them onto an external hard drive. With a couple of computer crashes and tons of picture taking, I have pictures everywhere and I want them all together and safely back-up so this will be no small feat.
7. Organize my itunes account and back it up onto an external hard drive. Every time I try to synchronize my account I find that I am missing something that I have purchased because it is in a different location / account. Once again, lots of time but it will be well worth it when synchronization is quick and easy.
8. Develop better skills through study and/or class participation for photography, Adobe Photoshop and possibly either book binding or letter press.
9. Take better care of me by scheduling appointments for pedicures, hair cuts and colors, massage and facials.
10. As I will be traveling more in 2011, I would like to see more of the areas that I travel to ... so taking time to explore the cities and all that they have to offer.
I would also like to volunteer more, so I need to do some research and find some places to do this. Any suggestions? I would love to hear about your personal experiences...
I have a lot that I want to commit to in 2011 and I look forward to updating you on my progress as I make progress.
So, what are your goals?
